currently covers. When neighbourhoods are ready to become more local,
they can break away from the main group and create more localised CBHOs
using the knowledge and information they have gathered in Our Hodge Hill.

What we said to the Council
The Statement of Intent was given to the Council on 14th November 2003
and detailed all of our suggestions, based on the consultation, for the

How the Council has responded
We think the response has been good. Achievements to date have
been: -
• Officers in the local team have been allocated
to deal with the specific issues raised in
the Statement of Intent;
• The District Housing Manager attends board meetings and
provides us with
regular updates as to what is going on
• Some budgets have been devolved to the District Housing Manager
• We are getting more information about how things work in Hodge
Hill
• We have secured a training programme for local residents who want
to learn more
• Officers have been appointed to work with residents in looking
at key housing
management issues including: -
- allocations;
- voids;
- repairs; and
- condition of housing
• The Board has been formerly launched after running
elections
for tenant and leaseholdermembers and other resident to its
membership
• The Board has developed, in partnership with the council,
an action plan
to improve the way council houses are run over the next year.
•
The Board has secured and allocated £111,00 of funding
to bring
about local improvements,
including: zebra crossing on Bromford Drive
and hanging baskets
down the
Washwood Heath Road amongst other areas of Hodge Hill.
